Wife and I tried this place after reading the reviews and highly disappointed!! Every cut of meat, sausage, ribs, turkey, brisket were dry! Like overheated in microwave dry, hardly any smoke flavor to any of it let alone like the even seasoned the meat. Mac and potato salad was also very underwhelming. Mac just didn’t have “brisket flavor” which makes sense since their brisket didn’t taste good either. Potato salad tasted like someone just mixed mashed potatoes with a lot of mayo. Feel like you get better ribs and rib flavor from a McDonald’s McRib than here. Definitely wouldn’t try again, save your time and money and go somewhere else
*The food is freshly made, when they are out of cooked meat they lock the doors fyi... So get there well before closing time.* My wife and I tried this place out yesterday. She's not big on BBQ but after sampling the Brisket, Ribs and Turkey... Wow food was juicy, tender, snd flavorful. We are definitely going back.
I got the three meat plate and a cherry cheesecake, the beans and potato salad were surprisingly really good, which caught me off guard in a good way. The only average meat was the brisket, it’s good and that’s about it, while the ribs falls off the bone easily & tasty, but the sausage are very very good & unique from the other BBQ’s sausages around Odessa. The cheesecake is by far the best BBQ dessert in the Odessa area and well worth the price for that dessert. Lastly the staff are very friendly when I arrived, which is always a plus for BBQ Restaurants. Overall if you have the budget for one or two, I’d recommend Tall City if you want something different from what BBQ places here usually have, great unique foods, totally recommend the Cherry Cheesecake.
